Download MailVault

MailVault is available for Microsoft Windows and Linux.

New users may download a free copy to test run and explore MailVault. The demo copy is full-featured, but limited to three users and one thousand emails. We encourage the “try before you buy” approach and in case you need to, you may apply for an evaluation license.

The latest version of MailVault is v2.2.36

Full software: v2.2.36 (January 30, 2012)
Incremental upgrade: v2.2.36 (January 28, 2012)

System requirements
The system requirements obviously depend on multiple factors, the most important being the volume of email you expect to archive, especially on an ongoing routine basis. For most organizations, we’d recommend a pentium class machine, with 2 GB of RAM (out of which MailVault will use 512MB – 1 GB). If you have specific questions, or would like us to help you size your system requirements, please get in touch with us.

MailVault for Windows

MailVault for Linux
This is a zipped file, which you can simply uncompress in the desired location. The enclosed README file walks you through the steps.

The current build should work out of the box on Debian based Linux systems – we recommend Ubuntu. Builds for other Linux distributions will be available soon.

MailVault for Linux requires the following software to be present on your system:

  • Python 2.6.x
  • Sun Java SE 6 (either the JDK or the JRE)

Most recent systems will probably already have these; if not it’s a simple matter to install them using your distribution’s package manager.
